The North West Bar Association was founded on 18 March 1981 then “Association of Advocates of Bophuthatswana” or just the Bar of Bophuthatswana, the name later changed to the North West Bar Association. With its first three members, Mr SJ Rossouw (Chairperson), Mr LAYJ Thomas and Mr TBR Kgalegi.
